Colloquium: Structures of Buddhist Thought
Tue Jan 7, Feb 4, Mar 4, Apr 1, May 6 and Jun 3, 2025, 6:30 pm
Language of the lecture: German
In this colloquium we want to deal with authoritative Buddhist texts of the past, but also with modern texts and secondary literature. The aim is to illuminate Buddhist thinking from very different points of view in an open discussion. No uniformity of Buddhist thinking should be constructed, which does not exist in Asia either. We also want to self-critically question basic Western assumptions about Buddhism. By actively asking questions and by comparing texts from very different ages and traditions, we want to repeatedly question and expand our own image of Buddhism. All participants should actively participate. – Anyone who has their e-mail address entered in the mailing list will receive the invitations with the texts to be discussed and the zoom link. – Participation free of charge.
