Q & A
We have compiled some frequently asked questions and the corresponding answers for you below. We would be pleased if this information would make it easier for you to plan your visit or to take part in an event at the EKŌ Center.
There is currently no mask requirement (as of June 5th, 2023), but for safety reasons we recommend wearing a medical mask indoors.
If you have any further questions, you are welcome to contact us by telephone (+49-211-57 79 18-0) or by e-mail (eko AT eko-haus.de).
When is the EKŌ Center open?
Information on opening times, admission prices, etc. can be found under Visitor Info on our website. Please note that the EKŌ Center is normally closed on Mondays and public holidays.
Are dogs or other animals allowed?
Dogs and other animals are generally not allowed in the EKŌ Center or EKŌ garden (exception: therapy and assistance animals). We sincerely ask for your understanding.
What about photo shoots, film shoots, etc.?
Photo shootings and film and video recordings (incl. drones / UAS etc.) on the entire site, including the garden, require permission in principle and must be applied for in writing in advance and also be approved in writing by the EKŌ Center.
If you are interested, please contact us early (contact person etc. here).
How can I attend a tea ceremony at the EKŌ Center?
The EKŌ Center only offers tea ceremonies on selected dates. The tea ceremonies are carried out by the Urasenke Tankokai Düsseldorf. You can find the next tea ceremony events hier; the registration must be by email in written form. Please note the registration dates (pre-submitted registrations will not be considered for reasons of fairness).
As the tea ceremonies are very popular, tickets sell out very quickly. Unfortunately, we currently do not have the capacity to offer tea ceremonies more frequently. We sincerely ask for your understanding.
How can I participate in Buddhist ceremonies or other EKŌ events?
In principle, Buddhist ceremonies and events of the EKŌ Center are open to anyone who is interested. However, prior registration is usually required, sometimes there is also a limit on the number of participants or an age restriction. Courses can only be booked as an overall course (not individual sessions).
Information on this as well as participation fees etc. can be found under Events for the respective offer.
